We will then visit Franschhoek, home to the French Huguenots that were settled there from 1688 onwards. The prison from which Nelson Mandela was released in 1990 is found here. We'll stroll down main road to visit the numerous boutiques and galleries that specialise in African arts and crafts. If you wish wine tasting at Boekenhoutskloof and Graham Beck can be included.
Stellenbosch is our next stop. We visit the historic heart of the town including the well preserved Dorp Street and the famed Oom Samie Se Winkel, a 104 year old Victorian shop which sells typical South African fare, including biltong, rooibos tea and fascinating goods from years gone by.
After driving through the gracious University Campus we will finish off with wine tasting at some of the following wineries: Rustenberg, Tokara, Thelema, Warwick, Kanonkop etc.
