After thousands of hours of meticulous restoration to the main house and with the addition of nine luxury suites situated in terraced, landscaped gardens, Schoone Oordt Country House is finally ready to welcome and embrace guests.
Dating back to 1853, Schoone Oordt is a voluptuous Victorian homestead that rests elegantly on a rise behind a small park at the junction of Swellengrebel and Voortrek Streets, the major arteries running through the beautifully positioned Overberg town of Swellendam.
Amidst fragrant gardens and around burbling fountains are eight Luxury Suites that have their own patios, exquisite bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities, satellite TV, DVD players and air-conditioning. Custom made linen, goose-down bedding, pure wool carpets, open hearth and under-floor heating and heated towel rails in the bathrooms all add to the luxury. Whilst the suites retain the Victorian feel of the main house, they are uncluttered and exude luxurious style and elegance.
Schoone Oordt's ample grounds offer everything you require for a totally relaxing, exclusive and luxurious escape. On hot summer days have a dip in the cool, saltwater swimming pool, or lounge in the shaded deckchairs and wait for the next round of drinks to be served.
A large dining/banquet room caters for pre-arranged formal meals for twenty people. A spacious lounge and well-stocked bar serves a selection of local, hand picked wines and provides a comfortable location for before and after dinner relaxation.
Airport transfers and day trips can be arranged as well as suggestions for eating out, exploring the area, on-site pampering or ideas for just relaxing and whiling away the time.
